Kia Opens Dedicated Factory for Electric Vehicles
Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motors, has launched its first-ever factory exclusively for the production of electric vehicles (EVs). The factory is located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, according to a report by The Korea Herald.
The new facility will primarily focus on producing the compact electric SUV, EV3. Additionally, the mid-sized sedan model, EV4, is scheduled to enter production next year.
Kia has invested 4.016 trillion won (approximately $3.042 billion) into the construction of the new factory, which will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.
